Off the Shelf - Daily Worships

You may have already seen the 'Off the Shelf' daily Worships from the Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education on Facebook. They have now created some new RE resources linked to the ‘Off the Shelf’ picture posts. These resources are now live on their website and will be regularly updated. The resources are designed to be used at home or school and do make reference to the current lockdown situation. They have tried to ensure that there is no mention of any resources that would be difficult to find or unavailable. They have also been careful not to ask the children to go outside.

The idea is that the children can choose any picture they find interesting to look at and discuss. They follow this by reading one of the two suggested Bible stories/text. They can then explore the story, it’s meaning and impact  through a variety of activities that are of course ‘Questful’!

The resources contain activities that are suitable for children in Yr1 – Yr6 The children can decide which activity suits them best. This hopefully makes the resource all age/family friendly and therefore can be enjoyed by siblings together. Again this aims to make life easier for teachers and parents as well.

To access the resources you simply go to the Off the Shelf page of the web site click and download. Hopefully this makes the process very easy for teachers, children and parents. A document containing the complete resource is available to download in the usual way through our resources page. Here is a sample to get you started.
